Using a Marks and Spencer virtual gift card, a customer can access clothing, home goods, and food products. Marks and Spencer is a British retailer known for its quality and style. With a Marks and Spencer online gift card, one can purchase items from a variety of categories, including fashion, homeware, beauty products, and gourmet food, suitable for many different occasions.
Terms of use
Gift cards and e-gift cards can be redeemed at M&S stores in the United Kingdom, Eire and the Channel Islands (including Outlets but excluding BP stores) and online (subject to website terms and conditions). They may be exchanged for goods of a higher price than the face value of the card on payment of the difference. Gift cards and e-gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash or used to pay for M&S Bank services, products or outstanding card balances, made to measure shirts, Lunch to Go, personalised cards or M&S Energy or to buy another gift card or e-gift card. Gift cards and e-gift cards can be activated with a minimum value of £1 and a maximum load value of £1000. Please note there is a limit of 10 gift cards per transaction online. To pay for made-to-order curtains with a gift card, they must be purchased in store. You will not be able to use a gift card to pay for made-to-order curtains purchased online. Gift cards and e-gift cards are valid for the period which is the later of (i) 48 months from the date of issue, or (ii) 48 months from the date of the last transaction. After the expiry of this period any remaining balance will be cancelled. Balance enquiries can be obtained online or by calling 0333 014 8777 for the UK and Channel Islands (local rates apply) or 1890 719380 for Eire (mobile rates may vary). If any item purchased with a gift card or e-gift card is subsequently exchanged for an item of a lower price or refunded, any money owing will be added to the remaining balance on the card. If you do not spend the entire balance on the gift card / e-gift card, the remaining balance will be updated after each transaction. If spent in store, the remaining balance is shown on your printed till receipt. Gift cards and e-gift cards should be treated as cash. They are not cheque guarantee, credit or charge cards. M&S will not accept liability for lost, stolen or damaged cards. Gift cards and e-gift cards cannot be returned or refunded, except in accordance with your statutory rights, for example in the event they are not of satisfactory quality. M&S reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions of gift cards and e-gift cards at any time and to take appropriate action, including the cancellation of the card, if, in its discretion, it deems such action necessary. This does not affect your statutory rights.

How are digital gift cards delivered?
When the Thankbox is sent the recipient receives a unique and secure link to redeem their gift. They choose their currency, retailer online gift card of choice or prepaid Visa, Mastercard or PayPal transfer option, and are then sent the virtual digital gift card, individual e-voucher or transfer instructions to their Inbox.
How does the recipient spend their digital gift voucher?
Once the recipient has chosen their currency, retailer online gift card of choice or prepaid Visa, Mastercard or PayPal transfer option they can then go shopping. Ensuring to select any ‘pay by online gift voucher’ or similar option at checkout.
Many stores will also allow any virtual gift card to be used for more than one transaction, up to the gift card collection total amount. Split payments between virtual gift cards and credit cards are also common with many retailers, as are payments in physical stores, John Lewis being a good example.
Does adding to an online gift card collection have any fees?
We add a small fee to each gift contribution to cover our payment processing & fraud check costs.
This amount varies depending on the currency you are collecting in: 🇬🇧 GBP collections are charged at 1.1% + £0.17. e.g. contributing £10 means you'll pay £10.28 🇪🇺 EUR collections are charged at 2.5% + €0.17. e.g. contributing €10 means you'll pay €10.42 🇺🇸 USD collections are charged at 2.9% + $0.19. e.g. contributing $10 means you'll pay $10.48
The fee is always clearly and explicitly stated whenever someone leaves a contribution.
To minimise fees when making multiple contributions you can top up your gifting wallet once and use it for multiple Thankboxes.
Are payment details handled safely?
Thankbox uses Stripe as our payment provider. They are the gold standard for internet payments, used by companies such as Airbnb, Lyft and Booking.com. They handle all of the payment details, including security.
All collected digital gift card funds are stored in a dedicated secure bank account with restricted access.
Can I pay for my Thankbox from the collection pot?
100% you can!
It's a great way to split the cost of sending the Thankbox between all the contributors. Just pick the Pay from your gift collection balance option when checking out.
